Calculation method
(1) The space wave of field strength is calculated up to ten hops.
(2) Field strength at the propagation distance of up to 16000km is calculated, and for distances of more than that, field strength is assumed to be 0.
(3) The radius of the earth is assumed to be 6367km, and the effective coefficient of the radius of the earth is assumed to be 1 without adopting 4/3.
(4) Factors are calculated for sea, land and ice conditions which are defined by their electrical characteristics (conductivity and permittivity), as shown in ITU-R P.684-7 Table 1.
(5) Change of Factors (sea, land and ice conditions) in the route of the surface of the earth wave is made twice, for subsequent changes, factors are treated as the same as those of the last change.
(6) Forecast data of 10.7 cm solar radio flux(F10.7) is acquired from the server of NOAA.
